These lodging options are less expensive and provide fewer services and amenities than modern hotels, and they don't offer the typical "hotel experience" that most of our European and North American guests are accustomed to. If we are traveling around Chile and Argentina we (our staff) will often stay at these places instead of more expensive lodgings. In most cases the proprietors speak only limited English. That said, if you are looking to experience the real un-buffered Chile and Argentina, with a lot of cultural interaction, these options should be considered.

The hospedaje is a "Bed & Breakfast Style" establishment run a by a super friendly Chilean family. The hospedaje is located near the center of town and offers breakfast and dinner for a little extra money - something not to be missed if you want a taste of real Chilean culture.
