Brief Route Description:
These routes are recommend only for those that are already planning a trip in Chile before or after their Futaluefu trip with Expediciones Chile, for travelers that have lots of time and are looking for further adventures, or for those that have already purchased a ticket through Chile. It requires a night stay in Puerto Montt, Chile and a night in Trevelin, Argentina where you will be picked up the following morning. IF you take the ferry across the Lakes of the Andes, it will require a night in Bariloche also. If you take the ocean ferry to Chaiten, a flexible schedule is needed for delayed schedules. Check with our office if this is your choice of entry.

Important Arrival Information:
Travel to Chile's bustling capital city of Santiago. From here it's an easy transfer of flights for arrival at one's destination, Puerto Montt. One and a half hours are required between international and national flights in Chile. If in Chile and are coming to Futaleufu, it is best to make one's way to the city of Puerto Montt where border crossings are easily done by bus, or for a more scenic route, by ferry across the lakes to Bariloche, Argentian where the trip south begins.
