Brief Route Description:
Arrive in Buenos Aires, one of S. America's largest and most colorful cities, and board a luxury double decker bus for a relaxing ride south to Esquel. Enjoy the opportunity to see some of Argentina's amazing landscapes while in one of the country's most comfortable forms of travel. These buses are unlike anything seen in the States; the seats recline and can be described as a throne that reclines to horizontal. Hot meals, drinks and more comfort than first class on a plane. Best of all, bring an ipod, book and earplugs and kick the Jetlag as the bus makes its way through Argentina's Pampa region, famous for its Gauchos, rolling hills and sprawling Estancias. Wake in the morning as the bus heads toward the Ande's Steepe dotted with pristine glacial lakes and towering glaciers in the nearby Andes Mountains. Stretch out in Bariloche and enjoy the scenery while changing buses. In Esquel, grab a taxi to Trevelin, the gateway to the Andes and the Futaleufu valley. Check into a hotel here for a relaxing evening and dinner. Expediciones Chile offers pick up service at 9:00 a.m. in the morning for an early start.

Important Arrival Information:
To correlate travels with our trip in Futaleufú in the quickest and most efficient way, we recommend departing one's home country on Thursday afternoon to arrive in Buenos
Aires as early as possible on Friday morning. Allow three hours from the arrival of one's flight to the departure of the bus from Estacion Terminal de Omnibus Retiro. Take a taxi to Retiro Bus Station to connect with the luxury bus that will head south.

Important Departure Information:
When departing through Argentina, one will be dropped of at a hotel in Trevelin after a full days activities in Chile. The following morning take a cab to the Esquel bus terminal for a bus to Bariloche. Change buses in Bariloche then start the overnight trip towards the Atlantic. The bus will arrive in Buenos Aires at mid day and allow for exploration of the city before evening departure back to the States.

Important New Updates:
***Jan 1, 2010 Argentine Government installs Reciprocal visa fee. The  rates are $131 USD - Americans $159 USD - Canadians; $60 USD - Australians .  The Chilean government does the same when you fly into the international airport in Santiago.  The good news is that when you cross into Chile at the Futaleufu crossing the Chilean government will not charge you for their visa fee. They Charge only if you fly into the Santiago international airport.

**** During summer months (Jan -March) Bariloche, Esquel and Trevelin are in a time zone one hour earlier than Buenos Aires. You may be confused by the flight times to Barilcohe. You gain one hour going west to Bariloche, Esquel and Trevelin. You will lose an hour going back to Buenos Aires. These areas of Argentina have the same time as Chile during these months.
