2. Gold Route: To Futaleufu

This route takes one direct into Esquel via Buenos Aires. The return flight is direct from Esquel back to Buenos Aires. This is a painless route to your trip pick up point. However these flights are not scheduled every day and recent instability with the scheduling and cancellation of flights has made this route hard to count on. The airlines have promised in case of canacelation to change your pre purchased tickets to and from Bariloche. It is important to ask our travel agent if she is recommending this route for the connection to your trip. If you are able to purchase tickets direct to Esquel, you will arrive in Trevelin with time to rest up and enjoy a great restaurant before your trip starts the next morning.

Quick Look:
1. Depart home town and fly to Miami. Board a flight to Argentina (EZE).
2. Transfer to national airport (AEP) Jet flight direct to Esquel (2 hrs 20 min)
3. Grab a taxi from Esquel Airport to a hotel you have pre-reserved in Trevelin.
4. Trip Start:
9:00 am Exchile picks you up at your hotel in Trevelin.
5. Trip Finish: 9:00 pm Exchile drops you off at your hotel in Trevelin.
6. Next morning: Taxi to Esquel Airport (35 min) - Flight back to Buenos Aires - connect to your international flight.

Brief Route Description:
Arrive in Buenos Aires, one of S. America's largest and most colorful cities, change airports and fly south to Esquel, a ski town on the edge of the Andes. A taxi will provide transportation to a charming mountain village located at the gateway to the Andes and the Futaleufu valley. Enjoy plenty of time to recover from the trip, dine in a fine restaurant and enjoy a night at Trevelin's finest hotel. Expediciones Chile will arrange a pick up in the morning, and will cross into Chile for the morning start of the trip.

Important Arrival Information:
We recommend departing one's home town on Friday and flying to Maimi. This is the easiest way to get to your trip pick up point if the flights are scheduled on the day you desire. In Argentina, it is best to arrive at the national airport at least 60 minutes before any connecting flight departs. They will start boarding standbys 30 minutes before the flight. If one wants to fly internationally on the airline of your choice, plan your flight to depart a day earlier, and spend a night in Buenos Aires. The next morning one can easily make it to the national airport (AEP) and make the morning flight to Esquel. From Esquel take a taxi (35 minutes) to your hotel in Trevelin.

Important Departure Information:
When departing through Argentina one will be dropped of at the hotel of your choice in Trevelin. The following morning take a cab to the Esquel Airport (35 minutes) for a mid day departure, direct to Buenos Aires in time to connect for an international flight back to your home country. There is enough time between flights that you can take a city tour through Buenos Aires.

Important New Updates:
***Jan 1, 2010 Argentine Government installs Reciprocal visa fee. The  rates are $131 USD - Americans $159 USD - Canadians; $60 USD - Australians .  The Chilean government does the same when you fly into the international airport in Santiago.  The good news is that when you cross into Chile at the Futaleufu crossing the Chilean government will not charge you for their visa fee. They Charge only if you fly into the Santiago international airport.

**** During summer months (Jan -March) Bariloche, Esquel and Trevelin are in a time zone one hour earlier than Buenos Aires. You may be confused by the flight times to Barilcohe. You gain one hour going west to Bariloche, Esquel and Trevelin. You will lose an hour going back to Buenos Aires. These areas of Argentina have the same time as Chile during these months.
